EZ 2 Clean Birdhouse -- Wes & Jill Nelson
Beginning to advanced students will learn the basics of gourd art—cutting, cleaning, staining, and preserving—as they create a unique bird house. Instructor supplies all materials. Students should wear old clothes and bring a dust mask.

Chip Carved Gourd -- Nancy Aupperlee & Karen Simmons
Learn the different techniques of creating unique patterns on a gourd using a wood gouge.  All materials supplied by the instructors. Class is for more advanced students.

Leaf Vase -- Jane Huisingh
After using a wood burner to trace and place leaves on their gourd, students will enhance the leaves with over 25 inks and metallics. Please bring a wood burner, heat gun, or hair dryer and a few leaves from home. Instructor supplies all other materials.

Halloween Party Bowl -- Sally Arnold
Students will use colorful acrylic paints and simple painting techniques to create Halloween designs on a gourd. Instructor supplies all materials. All levels of proficiency welcome.

Life Journey Vessel, Part I -- Karen Caldwell
Create a gourd basket or bowl to contain the bits and pieces of memories from your life journey using designs, colors, and images that represent you. Please bring photos, charms, and other items for embellishing your vessel and a gourd saw and/or a wood burner if you have them.  Instructor supplies all other materials.

Life Journey Vessel, Part II -- Karen Caldwell
Continue working on your vessel by completing and embellishing your “life journey” gourd basket or bowl with beads, wires, and cords plus the interesting elements you have brought from home.
Prerequisite: Life Journey Vessel, Part I

Using masking tape, gold leaf flakes, leather dyes, raffia, dried botanicals, pearl pigments and feathers, students will create a “gourdgeous” wall-mounted mask from cleaned and cut gourd pieces. Instructor supplies all materials.

Gourd Jewelry Class -- Barb Rothwell
Learn how to make exciting gourd jewelry from simple gourd scraps. All materials supplied by the instructor. All levels of proficiency welcome.

Philodendron Rimmed Vase or Bowl -- Jane Huisingh
Stitch a hard-shelled prepared gourd with a rim of philodendron leaves using wax linen or sinew. Embellish your gourd with beads, feathers, or natural items. Instructor supplies all materials. Students should bring a towel and small scissors.

Wood burned Wren House -- Gail Leider
Learn the basics for building birdhouses for cavity nesting birds from gourds by creating a “face” wren house. All materials supplied by the instructor. Students should wear old clothes and bring a wood burning tool.

Gourd Necklace & Earrings -- Maria Reese
Using leather dyes, gold leaf, metallic wire, and other media create one-of-a-kind artistic jewelry pieces to wear and enjoy. Instructor supplies all materials.

Working with a pre-cut, cleaned gourd, students will use leaf, flower, or abstract design templates and different media, such as metallic paints, pearl pigments, gold leaf, inks and leather dyes, to create a unique vase. Instructor supplies all
materials.

Jack-O-Lantern Luminary -- Maria Reese
Create a lasting jack-o-lantern by applying leather dye and/or ink to a pre-cut, cleaned gourd.  Add raffia, dried botanicals, beads, and a light to complete your creation.  All materials supplied by the instructor.

Gourd Shard Necklace -- Liz Drake
For this beginner’s project, students will apply an eggshell mosaic on a gourd shard to create a beautiful necklace. Instructor supplies all materials. Students should bring a hand-held hair dryer.

Contemporary Talking Stick -- Karen Caldwell
Create a contemporary version of the traditional Native American talking stick using a cut and cleaned canteen gourd. Apply paints and inks, feathers, beads, wires, and cords to your wood burned design. Instructor supplies all materials. Please bring a gourd saw and/or wood burner, if you have them.

Asian Harmony Vessel -- Karen Caldwell
Students will color a pre-cut and cleaned gourd with paints and inks, wood burn the Asian character for “harmony” on the gourd, and apply feathers, beads, wires and cords as embellishments to create a beautiful vase. Instructor supplies all materials. Please bring a gourd saw and/or wood burner, if you have them.

Gourd Mask -- Terri Schmit
Students will stain section of a gourd, place facial elements on it, and embellish the edges with beads, feathers, or natural materials. All materials supplied by the instructor. Please bring a wood burning tool and a drill with small bits, if you have them.

Gourd Clock -- Terri Schmit
Starting with a flat section of a gourd, students will create their own clock face design or use a kaleidoscope design supplied by the instructor. A hanger and clock mechanism are added to complete the project. All materials supplied by the instructor except for clock batteries.

Christmas Luminary -- Maria Reese
Working with a cleaned, cut gourd, students will apply leather dyes, inks, beads, and berries to create a beautiful Christmas luminary. Instructor supplies all materials.

    Saturday morning, October 30
Irregular Textured Gourd -- Jane Huisingh
After adding coiling to an irregular textured gourd of their choice, students will enhance the coiling with feathers, beads, or natural items. Near the end of the class, students will work on another gourd to learn the texture technique. This
second gourd may be made into a bowl or birdhouse.  Instructor supplies all materials, including two gourds for each student.  Please bring scissors.

Sea Grass Rim Bowl -- Jane Huisingh
Learn how to attach sea grass to the rim of a hard-shelled gourd bowl. Embellish your bowl with beads, feathers, fabrics, grasses, and yarn. All materials supplied by the instructor. Please bring scissors.

One-of-a-Kind Jewelry -- Jane Huisingh
Dyes, inks, paints, and other enhancements will be applied to gourd shards to make unique, one–of–a–kind pieces. Students will create more than one piece of jewelry and need to bring scissors, size 0 and size 1 paint brushes, ½ -inch paintbrush, heat gun or hair dryer, and jewelry pliers if you have them.

Pine Needle Rim Bowl --  Jane Huisingh
Students will use wax linen or sinew to add a rim of pine needles to a hard-shelled, prepared gourd. Embellish your gourd with beads or feathers. Instructor supplies all materials. Please bring a small towel and scissors.
