AGS Judging Program
In February 2008 the AGS Judging Handbook was released after much dialogue among an elite group of AGS gourd artists and growers. The mission for the Judging Program was to standardize the judging of raw and crafted gourds across the country.
The AGS Judge Training Program was then rolled out and even the skeptical were impressed with the carefully thought out judging guidelines. While many people were trained to be judges, we quickly discovered that about half of the participants were gourd artists who wanted to know what judging guidelines would be used to determine the best gourd in a given class.
Now we offer a free class for artists called "What Judges Look For" and the participants learn the Judging Considerations so they can apply them to their entries for AGS-Judged Competitions.
