Hello,

My name is Suzi Nonn and I live in the furthest northeast corner of Maryland, and am deprived of gourd things.  I started attending state festivals and was lucky to attend the gourd gathering in Cherokee for classes and supplies. Back home in Cecil County, Maryland I lead a county wide 4-H gourd group for kids and adults and we are having fun. But, I would like to spread the gourd word around our state and even into neighboring states, so I have begun to plan an event called “It’s a Gourd Day”

This will be an educational day for “gourding”. I finally have a wonderful facility – Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area (Edward Walls Activity Building) – and a date – April 17, 2004. I currently have four organizations that will promote the event; Maryland Cooperative Extension (4-H), Harford Community College, Girl Scouts, and the Master Gardeners of Maryland.
Now, all I need are instructors to teach classes and vendors who wish to sell gourds and gourd supplies.

If you are interested in volunteering to teach a class for our gourd day please contact me.  This year our focus is going to be inexpensive projects for adults and children of all ages.

Our plan is to charge participants $10 for administrative fees (each non-profit organization keeps their own enrollments) and then a charge for each class, (the price of the materials for the workshop.)

If you are interested, or would like more information, please e-mail me at suzi@gourdlady.com

Thanks in advance.

Suzi
