Founding members were Terry Noxel, Graham Ottoson & Pete Luellen. They worked up a Constitution and By-Laws in accordance with those of other state gourd societies. They invited AGS members around New York to participate in the first “Gathering of NY Gourders” and the initial meeting was held at Eco Village in Ithaca later that year. We held a 2-day gourd festival with classes and vendors in 2014 to raise awareness of gourds and our society. It was successful at growing our ranks. During our early years (2012 through 2016) we gathered 4 times a year to create gourd art. As the enthusiasm grew so did the number/frequency of workshops. Now we meet monthly from March through December. Join us; learn and share what you know; spread the gourd glow! NYSGS Constitution & By-Laws |
