Gourd Art Crafting Contest
THEMES ... Plan Ahead!

SPRING 2023 theme is Flock of Birds
All techniques are allowed, including everything from painting and woodburning to sculpting and clay, to whatever you can dream up! The only requirement is that the bird theme is the main focus of the design. (Deadline for entry: January 15)

The theme for Summer 2023 is “Mixed Media”” – this is your chance to enter a gourd that doesn’t fit neatly into other themes! (Deadline for entry: April 15)

Manipulated Gourd Art Crafting Contest
THEMES ... Plan Ahead!

The only requirement is that the gourd(s) is/are manipulated - - - either hand-trained or manipulated by nature (including a freak-of-nature)
SUMMER 2023: Anything Goes with a Manipulated Gourd Using your imagination, create anything from a container, vase, animal, wall hanging, sculpture, musical instrument...anything!
(Deadline is April 15th)

Why Enter?
  • The first-place winner of each contest will receive a free 1-year membership extension of their AGS membership
  • All winners will also receive a digital copy of the magazine for sharing with family and friends.
  • In addition, the first-place artist will be profiled in a feature article the following issue.
  • *Note: First place winners may only win one membership prize during a 12-month period.
  • After two (2) first place wins, the entrant will be asked to be a judge instead of an entrant.
