Quarterly Gourd Crafting Contest
Gourd Art Crafting Contest
THEMES ... Plan Ahead!

The theme for Winter 2025 is  “Gourd Sculptures.” Create a sculpture using 3 or more gourds or gourd parts. Other embellishments and materials may be used, but gourds must be the predominant material used. Entry Deadline - October 15.

The theme for Spring 2026 is  “It’s a Small World.” For this contest, the entry should be made from a
small gourd and the finished piece must be under 5" in height and width. This theme includes ornaments,
but ANYTHING made with a small gourd will qualify as long as it meets the size requirement! Stands or
hangers are allowed, as long as the gourd is smaller than 5". Note: Include a ruler in your photo so we can see how big the piece is.
Entry deadline is January 15th

Why Enter?
  • The first-place winner will receive a free 1-year membership extension of their AGS membership
  • All winners will also receive a digital copy of the magazine for sharing with family and friends
  • In addition, the first-place artist will be profiled in a feature article the following issue
  • *Note: First place winners may only win one membership prize during a 12-month period
  • After two (2) first place wins, the entrant will be asked to be a judge instead of an entrant
